The Department of Chemistry at Sacred
Heart Degree College, Sitapur is well recognized for the

Events/Programs Organized by Department of Chemistry during 2023-24
In the academic year 2023-24, the Department of Chemistry had
organized three major events
highlighting and spreading not only the importance of scientific knowledge but also social
issues.
Also, the Department’s students were participated in the degree-college level competitions.
The events are specified below-
1. Competitions on the occasion of GIRL CHILD DAY.
The Department of Chemistry had organized several competitions such as
poetry competition,
slogan competition and mono-act competition on the occasion of Girl Child Day with title “बेटी
है
तो कल है” on 25-September-2023, which is a prominent social issue that seriously needs
attention.

2. Science fest “Synthetica”.
On 09-November-2023, the Department of Chemistry had organized a
Science fest (group of
science competitions) named “Synthetica” which was an Inter Collegiate level where Inter
college students from 13 different inter colleges were gathered and participated in 5 different
competitions such as Spell Bee, Pictionary, Scientoon-Chemtoon, etc.

3. One Day Hands On workshop on “Identification of adulteration in
food stuffs” on the occasion of National Science Day.
Past decade has witnessed the heavy adulteration in a number of daily
consumable food items with hazardous chemicals or undesired cheap quality stuffs. So, regarding
the health and economic effects of adulteration, the Department of Chemistry had organized One
Day Hands On Workshop on “Identification of Adulteration in Food Stuffs” on 28-February-2024 for
the recognition and detection of most common adulterants in the daily used food items and also
for spreading the importance of chemical testing and thereby CHEMISTRY.

4. Team Sacred Heart Degree College, Sitapur participated and won the
champion's trophy in the Science fest
organized by the Department of Chemistry, I.T. College Lucknow. The
Team was mentored by Chemistry Department, Sacred Heart Degree College, Sitapur.
