Academic Council
The Academic Council is the apex academic body consisting of the Principal, Vice-Principal and all
department/teaching unit heads.
There could be expert invitees who could be listed and could be invited on special occasions for
consultation. As a norm, they are invited at least once a year.
The academic council meeting is held in the last week of every month, preferably on last Friday
during the last period, where the academic progress is reviewed and plan for the next month is
finalized.
Ad-hoc meetings of the AC is held as and when necessary.
A secretary is appointed for recording the minutes. The minutes are seen by the Principal and then
circulated for responses from the members and finalized with the inputs given with the scrutiny and
approval of the principal.
Programmes And Platforms Of The College
Sacred Heart Sitapur has developed over a period of time platforms to serve various groups, within the broad
framework of integral education and holistic development. The principle behind the platforms is ‘life-long
learning’.
Any programme on the college should be implemented with the clarity of how that will promote college vision
and mission and its core values. Programmes should also have a bearing on the larger value and goals
framework of the nation and the global community (especially, the SDGs).
Each programme should have the following components
Purpose – rendered in terms of expected outcomes
Programme Plan
Execution plan – people, place, time etc.
Resource mobilisation and utilisation plan – more specifically about monetary resources
Evaluation plan including documentation of the event – The programme is deemed incomplete
without the evaluation.
Each programme should have the following components
Care is taken on two aspects:
How to manage the event with least disturbance to the core activity of regular academic sessions and
with maximum involvement of students and staff (even beyond the department that initiates the
programme)
How to integrate learning and skill development in the programme implementation as a ‘learning by
doing’ process.
