Dear heartians – young and old, on the campus and the world over,
As we launch our new academic year 2025-26, I greet you from my heart (dil se) as should be a habit with heartians. It’s our claim and our aim that we work ‘with heart’ (dil se, dil lagaa ke). At Sacred Heart’s, our task is to work with hearts so as to have the transformation of ordinary hearts into Sacred Hearts.
Sacred Heart is symbolic of God – if God were ever to have a heart! It pulsates with life and energy; it pulsates for self and others; it has always space to accommodate others – it goes beyond me, my, mine to include ‘you’ and ‘them’.
The Catholic church, as is its practice, celebrates it as a jubilee of Jesus Christ’s birth, with a theme applicable to all – ‘pilgrims of hope’. In a world, appearing hopeless on account of the conflicts across its human geography, our education should help us to be harbingers of hope, resonating the college motto ‘FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE’.
This year, the campus has decided to align itself with the world nations (including our motherland) by focusing on Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2 and 3 (No Poverty, Zero Hunger and Good Health and Well-being). Let there be individual, class-based based and department-based efforts to contribute to attaining these lofty goals. We have a special stress on fitness as a means in the direction of SDG 3, in line with the national FIT INDIA CAMPAIGN. In this UN year of Cooperatives, we will also focus on cooperation and collaboration for achieving these goals in our own fashion.
The college has decided to strive for a ‘CARBON NEUTRAL CAMPUS’ status with no to plastic and efforts towards Zero-Waste. We need everyone on the campus to cooperate in this challenging venture, and also with our NSS unit in the lead, to attempt at creating such localities around. Hearty welcome to this green campus to grow into ambassadors of skill and goodwill! May the Sacred Heart of the Source of all Wisdom bless us all pilgrims on the path of seeking wisdom – the young learners, the senior learners, including the teachers, the staff and the parents.
